Can you smell that? Nowadays politics cover everything. From the news, on the roads, billboards, discussions in pubs and even the air we breathe. And it’s getting worse by the day with the culmination being the August-scheduled 2017 polls.
But it is not just men who are trying out their luck in the most rewarding career in Kenya. The 2017 political race is turning into a beauty contest thanks to the new beautiful faces gunning for different political seats in the country.
The girls are also coming with names that sound like they’re straight from an estate beauty pageant; Supuu wa Nai, Mrembo wa Nairobi, just to mention but a few…
The contest is stiffest in Nairobi where strikingly beautiful young women have declared their interest to unseat older ladies especially in the Women Rep race.
Below is just a sample of ladies who are seeking election in the capital.
Karen Nyamu or “Bae wa Nai” [Nairobi’s sweetheart] as she is commonly called by her supporters, is a children and women’s lawyer, hence, her slogan Wakili wa Watoto na Wamama.
The young lawyer hopes her beauty and brains and the vision for women and children of Nairobi will entice the voters.
Omanga is a businesswoman and is married to one Dr Francis Nyambiobo. They have two kids together.
The curvy lady has gotten voters drooling over her. But it is yet to be seen whether the Team Mafisi attention will translate into votes. She is said to be seriously loaded if her lavish birthday bash and the recent photo showing her flossing bundles of cash is anything to go by.
The bash according to a report by Tuko, was held at Capital Club, Westlands, reportedly cost a whopping Sh5M. A word of advice though madam, borrow a leaf from Mike Sonko and spend the cash in slums, or at least look like you are – not in clubs.
She is eyeing the next Nairobi Women Representative seat just like most of the beauties.
Nominated MCA Wangui Ng’ang’a
She is said to be ‘too beautiful to be at City Hall’, at least her colleagues think so. Her supporters on the other hand call her Miss B.
She’s all rounded, a pretty face and a killer smile to boot. She has left Nairobi voters especially men totally confused. They are said to have vowed to ensure she beats her competitors for the Nairobi Women Rep seat by 10am. Well, we shall wait and see – remember they’ll in total state of confusion.
I saw this one on TV the other day commentating about something. She is a political communications consultant who is eying the Lang’ata parliamentary seat. When she talks, one can easily be forgiven for thinking it’s a show on MSNBC with the panelists discussing Kenyan politics.
She is said to be living in Kenya and London and that might explain the Githungu [English spewing from the nose].
