Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and a delegation of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) treated their boss Raila Odinga to a surprise birthday party in Ghana.
The Opposition leader and presidential candidate celebrated his 72nd birthday on Saturday, January 7.
Earlier in the day, Kenyans took to social media to wish Raila a happy birthday and sent messages using the hashtag #HappyBirthdayRaila.
The birthday bash for the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) chief went down at at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra, the Western Africa country’s capital.
Joho noted that the birthday bash was a surprise to the former Prime Minister.
“After observing the peaceful handover of power at the Black Star Square between the outgoing administration of Former President John Dramani Mahama and incoming President Nana Kuffor Addo, we treated the Rt Hon Raila Odinga to a 72nd birthday surprise, at the Tang Palace Hotel, Accra Ghana.
Happy Birthday Baba, may you live to see many more,” He wrote on Facebook.
The flamboyant Mombasa politician and others had accompanied Raila to Ghana for the inauguration of Nana Kuffor Addo as the new President of Ghana.
Raila’s daughter Rosemary and his sister Ruth as well as other high ranking ODM officials were part of the delegation.
