President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday, December 8,  granted ailing football great Joe Kadenge his dying wish when he visited him at his modest South B Mariakani home.

A jovial Uhuru who was in the company of his wife, the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, spent some time with the history-making former premier league footballer and they chatted the Sunday afternoon away.

But the visit was not without its share of side dramas as when the night came calling, the Head of State had to change spots thanks to unforgiving power blackouts.

This comes after Kadenge expressed through an emotive clip which went viral, that he would meet his maker a very happy man, if he was granted the opportunity to meet the current president and his predecessors.

“I would like to meet you before I die. It seems my body doesn’t like me anymore and these are the people I would like to meet. The old men, I would like to say goodbye to them so that if God calls me today, I will have an opportunity to say good bye to them,” said the former AFC Leopards and Harambee Stars player.

It however remains to be seen whether the more reserved Daniel Moi and his successor Mwai Kibaki will meet the legendary Joe Kadenge.
