Mombasa politicians associated with the Jubilee Party have issued a stern  warning against Governor Hassan Joho, telling him to stop his vitriol against President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Led by Mombasa county gubernatorial aspirant Suleiman Shahbal, the leaders said the fiery Joho who is a defender of the Opposition, had now resorted to being personal against the Head of State.

According to Shahbal, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader was now using insults as a method of attacking the president which he termed as unfair.

“He does not in any way speak on behalf of the Mombasa populace. We are known to be very hospitable and disciplined people and the likes of Joho do not fall within our midst,” the gubernatorial aspirant noted.

Warning Joho against using abusive language against the Head of State, the coastal Jubilee Party leaders said Joho had no moral authority to criticise the president.

This comes just days after Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi’s public criticism of Uhuru by rubbishing the projects the latter had launched in the Coast region terming them PR initiatives.

It is believed that is the reason why both Kingi and Joho had their security detail withdrawn by the State, a move that has been harshly condemned Opposition leaders more so from ODM, who said it was intimidation.
