It’s Monday morning and Kenyans from all walks of life, may it be workers who were eager to build the nation, or students who ready to learn something new today, settled in their respective places.
But alas! Kenya Power had a completely different idea and after a bulb shone (figuratively -obviously), decided to plunge almost the entire country into darkness.
Kenyans on the other hand did what they do best, they took to the social media and more preferably Twitter to pour their frustrations.
“Power outage hits Nairobi, Mount Kenya and Coast regions after technical hitch at Kenya Power’s Ndenderu substation,” @CitizenTVKenya reported.
Others thought it was a good idea to lighten up the moment with a joke. “I climbed up the power cables to restore power on my own. Kenya power, this blackout is nagging to everyone,” @Frank_Wanga captioned the photo below.
“Whenever I see these companies trending: Kenya Airways, Uchumi, Kenya Power or “Moses Kuria” I always know something is wrong somewhere,” @jumaf3 wrote.
Power Twitter user @C_NyaKundiHKenya told Kenyans that Kenya Power was there to remind everyone that Kenya is still a third world country.
“Kenya Power there is no power in Nyahururu is it a national blackout?” @fundi_jack wondered. And yes it is Jack Fundi.
