Have you noticed this socialite-like craze taking over the Kenyan celebrity world, the one about them flossing stuff on social media and beyond?
Well, the latest to show of their wealth is one third of Kenya’s most respected Hip-hop trio P-Unit (currently on ‘hiatus?’). Gabu watch is enough to buy land in a not so bad suburb.
It seems the group’s break-up hasn’t affected the rapper, at least it didn’t leave his coffers empty, considering the ‘Wabe’ hitmaker has such an expensive time piece around his arm.
Gabu who is currently doing solo projects, after him and colleagues of the insanely popular P-Unit went different ways, recently had a sit down with entertainment website Mpasho, where he gave the cameras exclusive close ups of his expensive watch.
When asked how much he bought it for, the ‘Dirunk’ artiste told the interviewer what he said to a fan who once questioned why he was wearing a rubber strap watch – he asked him to do their research.
Well, looks like the chap did some googling as the article says Gabu’s Hublot watch is approximately Ksh 1.2 million. Gabu who’s latest gem ‘Bugu Bugu’ is doing well, is just one of few Kenyan celebs who have put their watch game up there.
Just recently, Octopizzo flaunted his Ksh. 201,000 Micheal Kors Lexington while Kristoff owns an Audemars Piguet – that’s the same watch President Uhuru Kenyatta and Joho wear. The magnificent piece is worth anywhere between Ksh.2.6 Million and Ksh. 5 Million.
But not everyone has their watch game on fleek. Just recently, fans blasted gospel singers Hopekid and L Jay Maasai for posting their sorry knock offs online.
A quick one though. So Gabu wears a 1.2M watch but drives a 2M Toyota Mark X? Just asking..
