One of Kenya’s top gospel (I’m using this loosely) musicians, Willy Paul, just made a huge leap in his music career by inking a deal with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz’s, Wasafi Classic Baby (WCB).
There’s no doubt big money will start rolling in soon which is a big deal in any artiste’s career, but the fact that Willy Pozzee is a gospel crooner makes it a controversial move.
The ‘Tiga Wana’ hitmaker recently put pen to paper and signed with Diamond’s, label but even before the ink dried up, his fans were already causing havoc on social media.
His sea of followers, most of whom have been with the controversial singer through thick and thin, completely went ham on him after making one of the most contentious moves a gospel artists could ever do in the country.
Let’s face it, WCB doesn’t produce the best gospel singers, if at all they do produce any.
There were rumors last week that Willy Paul, who was at the time touring the neighbouring Tanzania, as he promoted his new song ‘I Do’ featuring Alaine, would break bad after he was photoed with the Bongo sensation.
Well, they say where there’s smoke there’s fire, and the Kenyan gospel wonder kid is now signed to WCB. But personally, I can’t wait for his collab with bad boy Diamond Platinumz.
Willy Paul is now part of the growing family of Diamond’s mentees and he former let the world know at the earliest possible opportunity by sharing photos of him signing papers to seal the deal.
