Campaign drama continues to be witnessed around the country with the latest coming from Ruiru MP aspirant Isaac Mwaura, who was on Tuesday, April 18, injured following an incident with youth allegedly allied to his opponent Simon Kang’ara in Githurai.
Pictures that have gone viral on social media show the nominated Member of Parliament, who ditched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) in favour of Jubile Party, with a bleeding left ear and the windows of his SUV shattered.
There were earlier reports that his bruises were as a results of a bullet after his car was allegedly shot at.
Ruiru OCPD Isaac Thuranira however rubbished the claims noting no guns were involved in the fracas even as hawk-eyed Kenyans pointed out the peculiarity of the rectangular “bullet holes” on his car.
Thuranira said the legislator was wounded during a fracas over a jua kali shed. The MP was reportedly rushed to Nairobi hospital for treatment.
This incident came just days after Chege Fresh, a Kabete MP aspirant, went missing over the weekend and his car found abandoned near Gitaru dam with its rear windscreen smashed and two bullet holes in the back left door.
He was however found alive and well in Narok, over 100 kilometres from where his Toyota Prado was discovered.
