2017 has not been a year of celebrity weddings, at least so far, as only a few of them have walked down the isle albeit April being a favourite for many couples to tie the knot.
The last celebrity wedding ceremony was that of Ex Tahidi High actress Sarah Kassan aka Tanya, which took place at a beautiful garden in Karura Forest in Nairobi. That was on Saturday, February 25.
I’m struggling to think of another recent one courtesy of a celebrity from this side of the border but it’s remaining just that, a struggle.
Breaking the silence however is a renown personality in the media industry who will be walking down the aisle with his fiancee this weekend, that is if reports doing rounds on the blogosphere are to be trusted.
Celebrated NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu will on Saturday, April 22, exchange vows with his longtime bae Laureen, in a glamorous wedding ceremony planned to go down at an undisclosed location in Nairobi.
It is being reported that Mijungu and Laureen will hold an invite-only garden wedding (not surprisingly), where only family members, a handful of friends and the who is who in the entertainment world are expected to grace.
Mijungu went down on one knee on February, 6 2016 in a surprise engagement party after the two went out for two-and-half years.
The two lovebirds held a traditional Kalenjin wedding known as Koito on May, 7 2016.
In attendance were his colleagues at the Nation Media Group including NTV‘s Larry Madowo, Trevor Ombija, Mark Masai among others.
