Just recently, the news portals were awash with stories of how Jubilee Party awarded the wife of Johnstone Muthama, a harsh critic of the regime, with a nomination certificate for an elective position in the Machakos county.

Muthama who is never shy to respond to issues, has now come out to deny the claims saying he has no relationship with Agnes Kavindu, that they divorced in 1983 and whatever she is doing at the moment is her business.

“I very much want to talk about that woman, she is not my wife. We parted ways in 1983 in court but I take care of my children,” the firebrand politician said as quoted by The Standard.

He went on to add that she is just another woman to him since the dowry was already refunded and she won’t be buried in his home.

Also according to Muthama, he was not aware that Jubilee was using her to embarrass him, adding that she is only clinging on his name which he termed as “criminal”.

This past Monday, on May the 15th, Kavindu was issued with a nomination certificate by the Uhuru Kenyatta-led Jubilee Party so as to vie for the Machakos Woman Rep seat.

The incident came hot on the heels of Muthama ditching the Wiper party after falling out with former ally Kalonzo Musyoka who is the head of the outfit and Nasa’s second in command.
