Politics and the entertainment world could be miles apart but something makes the two appear similar, that there are no permanent enemies. They may be beefing today but photos of them exchanging pleasantries at an event appear tomorrow.
The above has been proven by Kenya’s biggest gospel acts Bahati and Willy Paul who have been on each other’s cases for the longest time.
It’s no secret that these two lads don’t see eye to eye as they battle for country’s gospel crown.
They are also known to copy paste ideas from each other, case in point when Bahati released the wedding-themed song ‘Mapenzi’. Earlier in the year, his nemesis Willy Paul overshadowed Mtoto wa Mama as Bahati is popularly known, with ‘I do’ featuring Alaine.
Willy Pozze then signed a deal with Diamond Platnumz Wasafi Classic Baby Records almost the same time Bahati collaborated with Rayvanny, a top WCB artiste. Coincidence you think? I don’t think so..
Willy Paul is getting ready to drop a new jam entitled ‘Digiri’ which is said to be vitriol against the Groove Awards which snubbed him (and Bahati) during its nominations for the different categories recently.. “There are no awards or degrees in heaven,” reads a line in the song.
And Bahati, for the first time, has come out to strongly support his ‘brother’. Through a social media post, Bahati showered Willy Paul with praise for the new song and the message it portrays – leaving many a fan in awe.
My Brother Aliniskizisha hii nyimbo few days ago #Degree Na Enyewe am here to Support You anytime Kenya Just wait for this Massive tune #1stJune Bro Willy Brings You,” he said.
Is it now safe to say that a beautiful bromance is slowly brewing and a collabo is on the way?
