Former presidential candidate badly humiliated by Anne Waiguru

Karua was forced to end her campaigns in two Kirinyaga wards


Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua who is eyeing the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat was left with egg in her face during her campaigns where she is pitted against former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.

Karua was forced to flee after encountering an irate crowd during her campaign trail on Saturday, June 15, after accusing Waiguru of being corrupt.

The former presidential candidate who was once the Member of Parliament for Gichugu was heckled while addressing residents of Kiture village and Kamwana market in Gichugu constituency.

The visibly angry crowd shouted pro-Waiguru slogans while at the same time accusing Karua for the lack of development in the area she was once MP.

Karua was also a powerful cabinet minister in the former President Kibaki’s government where she headed the Justice and Constitutional Affairs docket.

Area residents vowed to vote for Waiguru because she has showed commitment in developing the area.

They also lashed the former MP who initially backing Raila Odinga before decamping to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp, for failing to tarmac the roads in the area which has been impassable for eons.

Waiguru and Karua have been verbally attacking each other in their campaigns as they both seek the county’s top seat.
