Former powerful minister Nicholas Biwott, who used to be called ‘The Total Man’, is dead.
The veteran politician died on Tuesday, July 11 in Nairobi Hospital aged 77 years. He served as a Member of Parliament for 28 years.
“Mzee has been ill for quite some time and he was abroad for over one month seeking treatment till Sunday when he was flown back,” the Star quoted a close friend of Biwott.
His body has reportedly been moved to Lee funeral home.
Christened The Total Man due to his very feared nature, Biwott served alongside Presidents Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
He was also a wealthy businessman, politician and philanthropist and represented Keiyo South in Parliament until losing in 2007.
He is remembered mostly for being retired President Moi’s “Mr. fix it” and supported President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2017 bid.
He was the leader of the National Vision Party which he founded.
