A woman was arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport with drugs and was on her way to Bangkok, Thailand.
She had swallowed pellets of heroin and was nabbed on the evening of Monday, July 10, as she prepared to board a plane that was headed to Addis Ababa via Bangkok.
According to the police, 28-year-old Pamela Adhiambo had ingested 79 pellets that she was to deliver to Thailand. She had by Tuesday, July 11, passed 43 pellets with police saying she was under observation and would be arraigned once all the pellets have been recovered.
The second woman was nabbed in Mlolongo after Adhiambo told police she was the one who had supplied the drug.
“The woman arrested at the airport was a mule and was recruited by the second woman, who was arrested hours after the trafficker was detained,” a police officer said as quoted by The Standard.
It was revealed through the woman’s passport that she was a regular traveller Asian.
Just recently, a Kenya Airways cabin crew on a flight to China was caught carrying what was thought to be illegal substances.
