President Uhuru Kenyatta has honored the late interior cabinet secretary, and friend, Joseph Nkaissery, by appointing his widow Hellen to a State job.
Uhuru has reportedly rewarded the late General’s wife, Hellen Nkaissery, with a senior position at Ushanga Kenya.
Hellen is the new Chair of the Ushanga Kenya Initiative Steering Committee, an initiative by the Jubilee government to empower women from the pastoral communities earn an income through art work especially bead making and decoration which is popular in Maasailand.
Ushanga Kenya was established by the Ministry of Tourism and aims at diversifying product offerings in the tourism sector.
Nkaissery who headed the powerful Interior docket until his sudden passing on the night of Friday, July 7, was laid to rest at his Ilbisil home on Saturday, July 15.
The late Nkaissery collapsed at his Karen home on the said night and specialists have since quashed assassination claims, saying he died of a heart attack. That he suffered from a silent rare heart condition.
Among those who attended the burial were Uhuru, his deputy William Ruto and the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Also present were other VIPs including cabinet secretaries, politicians and high ranking military and police officers from the military.
