It will be remembered that Kibaki left an audience surprised at a function organised by his nephew Muriithi, when he was launching his campaigns. That is after he spoke coherently considering his last address to an audience was during late Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua’s burial which was disastrous to say the least.

It is believed Kibaki was acting because he did have anything good to say about the late. Kibaki has had an icy relationship with the Gachaguas since his days as a politician in Nyeri.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has joined other leaders in sending messages of condolences. He said she was a dedicated mother and role model who inspired many people in achieving their goals.
