Siaya Senator James Orengo has reiterated that the National Resistance Movement (NRM) will make good its threat and swear in Raila Odinga as President.
He went on to assure that if their efforts are thwarted, then they will then push for secession.
Speaking at Jacaranda on Sunday, November 12 during a rally, Orengo warned the Jubilee government against taking their threats lightly.
According to the the National Super Alliance lawyer, Raila was able to force multi party-ism during Moi’s era and therefore a secession would be a walk in the park for him.
“One of resolutions in the motions passed in the county assemblies says someone elected by 30 per cent of voters cannot be recognised as the President. Stand up firm for your right by saying enough is enough. We must reach Canaan,” Orengo told a charged crowd.
Also present at the rally which was declared illegal by Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome, were former Senators Johnson Muthama (Machakos) and Boni Khalwale (Kakamega) as well as other Opposition leaders.
The leaders said that NRMs people’s assembly would issue a vote of no confidence on President Uhuru Kenyatta so as to invalidate his victory.
Orengo maintained that NRM which is the force behind Nasa’s civil disobedience and economic sabotage where Opposition supporters have been ordered to shun products and services by Safaricom, Bidco and Brookside, would form its own national assembly.
He insisted his movement only recognised Raila as the legitimate President and rubbished Kenyatta’s August and October victories
