Nyashinski loses MTV award to Nigeria’s Davido



West African hitmaker Davido has emerged Best Africa Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) held in London, UK.

The ‘Fall’ superstar overpowered Nyashisnki, Wizkid, South Africa’s Nasty C and Babes Wodumo who were all eyeing the coveted accolade.

Davido was performing in Angola when he was announced winner and dedicated the award to his late mum. He also thanked his fans and supporters for overwhelmingly voting for him.

Nyashinki whose nomination was marred by controversy in his home country Kenya for his perceived snobbish nature, hopped on Twitter to not only congratulate Davido on his win, but also to thank everyone who voted for him.

Twitter exploded when President Uhuru Kenyatta said he had voted for the ‘Malaika’ crooner and asked fellow country men and women to vote for the third of Kleptomaniax (Now defunct).

Biggest winner of the night was Canadian act Shawn Mendes who four awards; Best Artist, Best Song, Biggest Fans and Best Canadian Act.
