Luos should secede and join Uganda – Ngunyi

Renown political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi has sensationally suggested that the Luo nation should be allowed to separate from Kenya and have their own country.

The controversial pundit even reckons they should move to the neighbouring Uganda where president Yoweri Museveni is likely to entertain them.

Through a Monday, November 13 tweet seen by, Mr Ngunyi didn’t mince his words suggesting that the former resistance General Museveni will be more tolerant to them than Uhuru has been.

“The Luo nation should be allowed to secede and join Uganda. Maybe Museveni will be more tolerant than Uhuru,” the professor said causing an avalanche of reactionary comments.

The Luos make the biggest supporters of the National Super Alliance Raila Odinga’s supporters by the mere fact that the ex Prime Minister is Luo himself. The community also made the majority of people were shot dead during anti-IEBC demonstrations.

Not just that but most of the counties in Nyanza (Migori, Kisumu, Homa Bay and Siaya), a region largely occupied by Luos, kept off the October 26 repeat election.

Since last month’s poll which Raila Odinga withdrew from, Nasa has been pushing the session talk with Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma drafting a secession Bill.
