Celebrities world over, come out and endorse political outfits, but there are those who commit to active politics, some even stand for seats although only a few get elected into office.

Across the border in Tanzania, model and actress Wema Sepetu has left her fans dumbfounded after ditching the Opposition and joining President John Magufuli’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

She left many scratching their heads after the announcement on Instagram, many were left wondering why she decided to jump ship.

A host of them were mad at the star for leaving Chadema, accusing her of abandoning the party despite benefiting immensely from the Opposition outfit.

The former Miss Tanzania had signalled about the move when she said on Instagram that she was not at ‘peace’ and had decided to return home.

I can’t continue living in a house that does not give me peace. Peace of mind is everything for me… Natangaza Rasmi kuondoka Chadema na Kurudi Nyumbani. (I can’t continue being in a home where I am not a piece.. I will soon make an official announcement about ditching Chadema and going back home.. )” Wema said.
