Vince Dancer: Chokora who returned KSh 200,000 to owner dies

His lifeless body was found in Eastleigh

Remember Vincent Omondi otherwise known as Vince Dancer? He became an online hit in March this year after handing back KSh 200,000 he had picked from the ground.

The selfless act saw strangers pool funds to cater for his needs and also send him to rehab to kick his drug addiction.

A social media post by Ruth Ambogo says his lifeless body was found in Eastleigh on Tuesday, December 5.

“I have just received the sad news of the death of Vince Jawagoro. (His lifeless body was found at Eastleigh today) For those who don’t know him, he is the street boy who was kind enough to return 200k to a stranger who had dropped the same in town on her way to the bank.” the Facebook post that was seen by reads.

Mr Omondi is a graduate of the Limuru-based St Paul’s University where he studied Business Information Technology and was even working but had a difficult patch at some point and turned to drugs before getting hooked.

According to reports, Omondi got depressed after his mother died of cancer back in 2008 and everything went haywire.

He became his siblings breadwinner but the depression led him to drugs and lost his job. The cause of his death has not been revealed.
