Unknown people have vandalised the grave of Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan’s ex Ivan Ssemwanga.
The late was a member of the Rich Gang crew and was buried in Nakaliro village in Kayunga Town, Uganda, with his crew members throwing lots of cash into the grave in his honour.
According to a report by the Daily Monitor, a relative said that he was passing by the grave on December 6 morning when he saw a hole had been dug at the sides of the grave.
“I got shocked when I saw the hole and when I went nearer, I realized that a big hole had been dug up to the concrete of the grave,” stated the source who was only identified as Wamala.
Wamala added that the thieves might have wanted to steal the money thrown into the grave and perhaps Ivan’s skull but a concrete wall in the grave stopped the grave robbers from reaching the body.
Mr Ssemwanga was a wealthy businessman and died on May 25 at Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria, South Africa after suffering a massive stroke. His former wife Zari later said his ex lived with high blood pressure but never used to take his medication.
A few days after his burial, Abey Mgugu, a Ugandan lawyer, moved to court to have the body exhumed to recover the cash he was buried with. He argued it was misuse of legal tender.
