Deputy President William Ruto is no stranger to dishing out millions of shillings in harambees especially in churches and other institutions all over the country.
The DP carries his donations in brown envelopes for all to see, leaving residents attending the fundraisers totally perplexed.
His actions have been a topic in many forums with the Coalition for Reforms as Democracy (CORD) leaders questioning the source of the millions of shillings he pours out. They say it’s proceeds of corruption.
Now, a controversial video has emerged showing President Uhuru Kenyatta and his number two, Ruto, dishing out over KSh 70 million in just one church harambee in Narok county.
As usual, the money was carried in the famous brown envelopes as the two contributed KSh 34.5 million each.
Ruto’s PA Farouk Kibet, the man who has been adversely mentioned in the the NYS scandal, also contributed over KSh 3 million.
Others who gave out hefty donations included Governors Jackson Mandago of Uasin Gishu and Samwel Tunai of Narok.
But Kenyans are also questioning the contributions doubting that the large amount being mentioned could fit in the envelopes.
With corruption being unearthed left, right and centre, especially in the Jubilee government, as well as the county governments, a section of Kenyans believe the money is from the alleged loot.
This is happening even as Uhuru and Ruto have come out to defend their contributions, saying they are working for the good of the country.
