It’s been three weeks since celebrated news anchor Janet Mbugua quit Citizen TV, and television in general, after working at the Royal Media Services-owned station for six years having after ending her stint with a South African media house back in 2011.
The beautiful lass shocked her fans one evening when after reading the news, in the company of her work ‘bae’ Hussein Mohamed, told them that that would be her last assignment with the station.
The blogosphere was awash with stories the next day that she was headed to the Red Cross where she would take up her new role as director of communication.
Shortly thereafter, and without confirming where she was headed, Janet put up a post saying she had quit TV so as to have more time with her young family.
Almost a month later, on Thursday, May 4, in the evening, Janet hooked up with her former colleagues at Citizen TV as they celebrated Lilian Muli’s birthday.
“Happy belated birthday Lilian Muli Great seeing some the team from Royal Media last night. A tug of nostalgia and the celebration of life,” she said.
Also at the bash was her husband Eddie Ndichu.
Kirigo Ng’arua who was recently sacked by the Citizen TV was also present at the bash. So was Janet’s replacement Anne Kiguta, Jackie Maribe and a host of other friends.
