The Opposition is working to have the constitution amendments and a fresh election held soon which are among the latest demands on secret talks being pushed for by some envoys from the European Union and members of the clergy.

Zipo.co.ke has also learnt that the National Super Alliance is seeking to rid the country of the Executive and introduce a parliamentary system or rotational presidency, more power given to the counties and security shared between national and county governments.

According to a report by the Standard, the coalition is pushing for talks with Western countries and the clergy which are informed by their concern that the country is deeply divided.

Last Tuesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto took the oath of office for the second and final term at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, the same day Nasa leader Raila Odinga planned to swear himself as People’s President.

The rally was hastily changed to a memorial service to honour supporters who have died during confrontations with the police but it was thwarted.

On the same day, Raila declared he would be sworn in together with his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka on December 12 which is Jamhuri Day.
