Controversial former nominated senator Paul Njoroge is once again ensnared in yet another row with the police but this time over an alleged theft of his car.
Njoroge claimed 13 police officers aboard private cars stormed his business premise in Kitengela on Friday, June 8, taking away his Toyota V8 Vehicle together with KSh 600,000 which was inside the car.
He told KTN News his efforts to find out the nature of his crime and who was the complainant, were however futile as the officers insisted he accompanies them to the area OCS office.
“They were very arrogant, ready to do anything to me because they came and started threatening me to make any move and if I tried they would finish me because they were aware I usually use guns and I’m a very violent man,” he narrated.
He refused to board any of the police vehicles – identified as KCG 945K and KBA 778P – due to his condition and instead drove in a friend’s car.
Upon reaching the Nairobi Central Police Station, Njoroge says the OCS denied ever sending any officer to pick him for questioning.
Police Inspector General Joseph Boinnet has since directed Nairobi police boss to investigate the incident.
The hot-tempered former Jubilee senator was nominated to represent the interests of the persons with disability.
In February 2017, he openly shot at Vivo energy Chief Executive Polycarp Igathe.
