Murang’a Seal’s head coach, Abdallah Juma, has provided an explanation for why Yasin Sije did not appear against his original team, AFC Leopards, last Sunday. Murang’a Seal faced a 1-0 defeat against the 13-time league champions, AFC Leopards, on Sunday, with the loss coming from a goal by Victor Omune. This marked the team’s third consecutive loss under Abdallah, who is still confident that the team will reverse its fortunes by the season’s end.
Sije, who was acquired on loan from AFC Leopards after a period of underperformance, was unable to participate in the match. Juma has now clarified the reason behind this absence.
“We encountered a significant issue in our forward line, and we were fortunate to secure a talented striker from AFC Leopards,” Juma stated.
“He was actually supposed to play against his original team, but it was agreed through negotiations that he would not participate (as stipulated by a clause in the loan agreement).”
Juma is optimistic that Sije, together with other seasoned newcomers, will contribute to the team’s goal of securing its spot in the division in their debut season. “Sije is an effective striker, but I am confident that we will see improvement because the contributions from (Joe) Waithera, Denno (Odhiambo), and Sije will bring in experienced top-tier players who will support the team.”
Juma has a strong belief in his team’s ability to avoid relegation by the end of the season.
“I am extremely confident in our performance. The team will stay in the league. Winning four or five matches should suffice.”
