AFC Leopards vice-captain Clifton Miheso is finding positive aspects in their recent defeat at the Elijah Lidonde Super Cup, which he believes will aid in their improvement for the second leg of the FKFPL season.
Miheso is optimistic that the team’s performance at the Elijah Lidonde Super Cup in Kakamega will bolster their chances for a successful second half of the FKFPL season. The final, held at the renowned Bukhungu Stadium, ended with a victory for Homeboyz, who defeated AFC Leopards with a 75th-minute goal by Davies Kasirye. This match was particularly significant for Homeboyz, as it served as a form of revenge for their previous 2-0 loss to AFC Leopards in the FKF Premier League.
Despite the loss, Miheso views the experience positively, noting that the tournament provided an opportunity for the coach to solidify his strategies within the team. He mentioned that the tournament was an experimental ground to address team issues and set the foundation for the upcoming leg.
Miheso praised the high morale within the team and expressed hope that the tournament experience will lead to a strong start in the second leg and yield positive results.
AFC Leopards recently secured their second win of the season against Homeboyz and managed a 1-1 draw against Murang’a Seal in their last game of 2023. Sitting 14th in the league with 15 points from 16 games, the team is looking forward to the second leg, hoping their preparations will pay off in climbing up the table.
