Trucha is set to manage his first ever Mashemeji derby as the coach of AFC Leopards. As the excitement mounts for the 95th iteration of Kenya’s premier football event, the Mashemeji Derby, AFC Leopards’ head coach, Tomas Trucha, is preparing for his initial showdown with arch-rivals Gor Mahia.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled for this Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium, starting at 3:00 pm.
In a recent interview with the club’s media, Trucha conveyed his enthusiasm and readiness for the upcoming derby, highlighting its importance not only in Kenya but across the African continent.
“Everyone is ready, and the positive atmosphere in the camp motivates us even further for this game,” said Trucha.
“This is a significant match not only in Kenya but also in Africa. This will be my first time leading the team in the Mashemeji Derby, and I am eagerly looking forward to it. I intend to enjoy the experience.”

“To our devoted AFC Leopards fans, thank you for your overwhelming support during our away match in Machakos.
We felt more at home than the home team,” remarked Trucha. “I am confident that on Sunday, you will outnumber our opponents. Let’s fill Nyayo Stadium with blue and white.
