Gor Mahia Sets Sights on Murang’a Seal as Shabana Prepares for Sofapaka Challenge

The Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) is set to resume this weekend after a week-long hiatus. The break was to accommodate teams like AFC Leopards, Kenya Police, Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Sofapaka who participated in the FKF Cup, shifting focus back to league competition.

The action begins on Saturday, May 4, with KCB hosting Kariobangi Sharks in the South, while Muhoroni Youth faces off against Bidco United in Muhoroni. The day’s highlight features Gor Mahia taking on Murang’a Seal. Gor Mahia, currently leading by nine points, aims to widen their lead and strengthen their position at the top of the table.

In another anticipated match, Shabana will go up against Sofapaka at Dandora Stadium, promising an engaging clash.

Sunday’s lineup starts with Nairobi City Stars battling Ulinzi Stars at Dandora Stadium. Later, Kakamega Homeboyz, fresh from their FKF Cup exit, will play host to Police at the Mumias Sports Complex. Police, sitting third in the league, are eager to win and narrow the gap with Gor Mahia.

AFC Leopards will face Bandari at Nyayo Stadium. The Dockers are looking to preserve their top-four status, while the Leopards, lifted by recent performances, aim for a win.

The Sunday schedule also includes Posta Rangers against FC Talanta. The Rangers, struggling mid-table, hope for a vital victory to boost their standings.

The week concludes on Monday with Tusker facing Nzoia Sugar at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos. Tusker seeks to maintain pressure on Gor Mahia with a win.

Nzoia Sugar, languishing at the bottom, faces the threat of relegation and is in dire need of a victory, though it may still not be sufficient to avoid the drop.
