Kenyan Winger Scores as Leicester City U21 Defeats Brentford B in Premier League Cup Match

Otieno, who was recently included in the Leicester City senior team for the first time, scored as the Youth Foxes defeated Brentford this Friday.
Kenyan talent Silko Amari Otieno Thomas scored as Leicester City’s Development Squad triumphed over Brentford B 3-2, advancing to the Premier League Cup last-16 on Friday night.

Otieno has now netted three goals in 11 Youth team games since his transfer from Chelsea last summer, and is determined to continue his impressive performances until he secures a regular spot in the first team, as Leicester aims for promotion back to the Premier League.

Requiring a victory to qualify as Group G runners-up and join Fulham in the knockout phase, Leicester started aggressively at the LCFC Training Ground. Portugal youth international Marçal opened the scoring at the 18-minute mark.
Otieno then extended Leicester’s lead just before half-time, scoring the second goal during the first-half injury time.

Brentford’s Iwan Morgan reduced the gap with a penalty soon after the break, but Leicester’s substitute Oliver Ewing restored the two-goal lead with 15 minutes remaining.

Kyrell Lisbie later scored what turned out to be a mere consolation for the visitors, but it was Leicester who advanced to the next round, finishing the group stage with nine points from six matches.
It was an impressive comeback from the Foxes’ youth team, who initially had no points after three matches, but managed to win all three reverse fixtures against Brentford, Fulham, and Burnley to progress.
