Okello is tied with Gor Mahia’s Benson Omala at 12 goals each, with seven games remaining. Tito Okello, the star striker of Police FC, has kept quiet about his chances in the golden boot race, even after scoring twice last weekend against Sofapaka FC.

The South Sudanese forward equaled the league’s top scorer, Benson Omala, with a brace from two controversial penalties, bringing both players to 12 goals each on the scoring chart.

Reflecting on his team’s impressive recent performance that has moved them to second place in the league standings, Okello stressed the importance of maintaining their momentum in the upcoming games.

“It feels good because the season started poorly for us. I was trailing; I had three goals while he had nine,” Okello told Pulse Sports. “Now we’re both at 12 goals. It took determination and hard work.”

Despite his achievements this season, Okello remains modest and recognizes the competitive nature of the golden boot race.

“I’m still in the race. It’s tough. He’s scoring too, but if God decides it’s his, then that’s what will be. It’s all in God’s hands. We can’t be sure because anything can happen,” he remarked.

Looking forward, Okello expressed his team’s resolve to win the league title. “We’re still pushing. We have about seven or eight games left, and we need that trophy. If we win all our remaining games, we’ll be set because we must win them all,” he added.

As the league season advances, all eyes are on Okello and Omalla as they vie for the prestigious golden boot award.

With their remarkable goal-scoring records, the competition is shaping up to be a thrilling watch for fans until the season’s last game.
