The club is exploring ways to fortify its team to assist coach Sammy Omollo ‘Pamzo’ in his immediate goal of steering the team away from relegation danger. Shabana FC’s head coach, Ezekiel Kerama, disclosed the club’s strategy for player transfers as they aim to bolster the squad and avert relegation.
Earlier this month, the club appointed Sammy Omollo ‘Pamzo’. Under his guidance, the team has played two matches, winning one and losing the other. Now, they are looking to strengthen their squad to achieve their goal of avoiding relegation.
In an interview with Radio 47, primarily focused on the seven players the club has deemed non-essential, Kerama said, “There is a chance we will sign new players based on the coach’s recommendations, depending on how things are going.”
“We’re focusing on the team’s stability. This involves identifying problem areas and finding solutions. For instance, if the coach suggests enhancing our strike force, we will actively look for players in the market, of course based on his recommendation. If he identifies a specific player, we will negotiate with their club to acquire their services lawfully, and if a deal is struck, that’s great.”
Kerama also mentioned the possibility of recruiting players on loan as the club seeks inventive ways to reinforce the team.
“We’re also exploring the option of getting players on loan, just as we are loaning out two of our players. We’re open to considering loan deals for incoming players as well.”
Additionally, Kerama criticized social media bloggers who claimed that the club had unlawfully released seven players. He accused them of disseminating false information without verifying facts with the management.
“The issue is that some people post information without consulting the management to understand the situation. They publish one-sided stories without allowing the club to present its perspective or the complete picture. Their content is misleading, and none of the information they have shared is accurate,” he stated.
