Tusker FC has signed 24-year-old defender Yussuf Mainge from Kenya Police to fill the right-back position, following Daniel Sakari’s move in the opposite direction a few weeks ago. This addition bolsters Tusker’s squad for the upcoming 2024-25 season.
The club announced the acquisition of Mainge, who has previously played for both Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, on a one-year contract. This move strengthens their defense as they prepare for the new campaign. Tusker FC praised Mainge’s talent and defensive skills, highlighting his reputation as one of Kenya’s top defenders due to his uncompromising style and commanding presence on the field.
Mainge’s signing is seen as a strategic move to replace Daniel Sakari, who recently joined Kenya Police. Known for his versatility and reliability as a right-back, Mainge is expected to bring stability and resilience to Tusker’s defense.

Mainge brings significant experience from the FKF Premier League, having played for Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards. He also broadened his footballing experience with a stint at Slovakian club FC Pohronie in 2019.
