Victor Wanyama Ridicules Spanish Journalist Following Remarks on Kenyan Athletes

Victor Wanyama humorously responded to a tweet from a Spanish journalist, suggesting that he should stick to his own profession and leave athletics to Kenyans.

The former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama playfully teased Andy Mitten, editor of the renowned United We Stand magazine, after Mitten posted a photo celebrating his completion of a race.

On his Twitter account, the well-known writer and journalist Mitten posted: “Completed my second 10k race this year. Time: 47 mins 21 secs. Didn’t win, but if any Kenyans are up for a challenge, I’m ready.”
Wanyama, currently a defensive midfielder for the Major League Soccer team CF Montréal, humorously replied to Mitten’s tweet, suggesting that he should concentrate on journalism and leave running to Kenyans.

Wanyama’s witty comeback read: “Sorry Andy, better stick to journalism; running is a staple for Kenyans.”

A devoted Manchester United fan, Mitten playfully responded to Wanyama: “Fueled by your delicious spaghetti, I’d challenge you to a race across the Maasai Mara, letting my legs speak for themselves.”
Another Twitter user praised Mitten’s effort in the race, expressing eagerness to join him in the next event.

“Great photography work. Congratulations, and I’m looking forward to joining you in the half marathon,” the user commented.

Another user admired Mitten’s commitment, remarking: “It’s always a surprise waking up on a Sunday morning in Barcelona to see hordes of runners instead of cars. It creates an incredible atmosphere.”
A different user, inspired by Mitten, expressed a desire to start running again despite being older: “Haven’t run a race since 2007, but I’m hitting a milestone age this year. Seeing you at a similar age achieving this makes me want to give it a try. Well done!”
