Wanyama, who has recently become a less central figure in Canada, made his season debut in the MLS on Sunday morning. Victor Wanyama, the former Harambee Stars midfielder, was brought on as a substitute, contributing to Montreal’s first victory of the season away against FC Dallas with a 2-1 win.

In his 13 minutes on the field, Wanyama executed an interception and effectively helped Montreal secure their lead to clinch all three points.

Josef Martinez scored the decisive goal in the 60th minute, breaking through to secure a 2-1 advantage for Montreal. Ruan Gregorio Teixeira played a crucial part in setting up Martinez’s goal with a deep pass into Dallas territory.

Earlier in the game, Petar Musa marked his Dallas debut by scoring with a right-footed strike towards the end of the first half, balancing the score after Jules-Anthony Vilsaint had initially given Montreal the lead in the 20th minute.

Montreal faces a challenging schedule, with their next game against Miami on March 10, part of a series of six consecutive away games to kick off the season. Their first home game is set for April 13 against Cincinnati. The victory over FC Dallas offers a promising beginning for Montreal, aiming to maintain this momentum in their forthcoming matches.
