Deputy President William Ruto has been dealt a blow after suing award-winning photographer turned civil rights activist Boniface Mwangi for defamation.
Mwangi is now targeting DP Ruto’s reputation and has sensationally linked him to infidelity in a drama that only seems to have just gotten started.
The controversial former journalist is now accusing Ruto of being promiscuous by having an extra affair with an unnamed university student whom he impregnated a while ago, with whom he has a secret child.
Through his lawyer Gitobu Imanyara, Mwangi on Friday, October 21, filed a counter-suit case against Ruto justifying why he (Ruto) has no reputation to protect.
In the court documents, Mwangi argues the DP sired a child with a university student back in 2006.
“The defence and counterclaim also opens less known claims, such as William Ruto’s alleged extra-marital liaison with an unnamed university student, who bore his baby on March 6th, 2006. William Ruto allegedly neglected to support the baby until court action was threatened against him,” Mwangi said through his legal team as quoted by Tuko.
“Defence filed on behalf of Boniface Mwangi, contains a counter-claim against Deputy President for defamation following comments that the Deputy President made on local media insinuating that Boniface Mwangi is a perpetual drunk, who routinely wakes up late to nurse a hangover,” reads part of a statement released by the activist’s lawyers.
Mwangi recently hit the headlines when he linked William Ruto to the killing of controversial businessman Jacob Juma, maize scandal in Kenya and crimes against humanity.
