Muthama, Kalonzo feud takes an ugly turn

The recent rivalry between the National Super Alliance (NASA)’s second in command Kalonzo Musyoka, and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama, is getting mushy with the latter threatening to hang the former vice president out to dry.

Muthama said during an interview with the Sunday Standard that he would soon unravel “very damaging issues” about his former close friend, when the right time comes.

This is coming hot on the heels of Muthama’s public pronouncement that he had quit the Wiper party and would be contesting the Senate seat as an independent candidate.

Pundits believe that the fallout and the undertones the rivalry has sparked, there is acrimony between the pair which goes far beyond the party primaries fiasco in Kitui, Makueni and Machakos counties.

Muthama however didn’t explicitly confirm the theories during the interview but said there were “more things” he wanted to say about Kalonzo.

“I do not rush into things and you know that. I take my time, but when I do, I do not hold back. What I have and what I am promising to reveal is shocking… shocking information that will shake the whole country,” he said as quoted by the paper.

When asked whether the information concerns the mysteries surrounding the negotiations that led to Kalonzo agreeing to become ODM leader Raila Odinga’s number two in Nasa and attempts by Jubilee Party to pluck him from Nasa, Muthama replied: “That is coming from you.”

Adding: “For me, I have a story to tell Kenyans and I will do so at the opportune time. For now, I have a nation, a community, a name and credibility to protect. When that time comes and I open my mouth, the whole country will be shaken,” he said.
