We all have that information about ourselves that not many people know except people close to us. Well, so do celebs like media personality Julie Gichuru, who recently shared on K24‘s Talk Central something many people didn’t know about her.
The former Citizen TV newscaster is a mother of five and apart from her family, she also spoke about her education, love, career and family, in the process revealing so much about herself that many never knew.
Julie got married long ago to her husband Tony Gichuru, yes, the son of billionaire and former KPLC boss Samuel Gichuru, and are proud parents to four adorable babies.
“It was incredibly hard and I need to say now that our baby choked on pureed food, and to all the mothers and fathers out there, the biggest cause of child death under one year is choking. Children can choke on liquids and they can choke on solids, we didn’t know that and it happened.
You see a lot of me out there but my life is my family, my life is my children. I was devastated beyond anything, I am telling you the kind of grief where you cannot breathe. I would literally would wake up and search for breath because I had no breath in my body.
I yearned to sleep at night because in my sleep he would come in my dreams, I was holding him again. It was a traumatizing time and I actually said to my husband we are never going to have another child again I can’t go through this again.” She told show host Kalekye Mumo.
But her husband was by her side and encouraged her to gather strength and soldier on with life after the loss of their son.
Years later, she is mother to two more sons and she said in the interview that her children are aware of the incident and always include him in their prayers.
“They will never forget, they had to deal with their own trauma and we had to be very open with them. Every night my children pray, Dear God, give a kiss to cucu who passed away and our brother Mwaura who is in heaven. So it’s like he is still present all the time,” She said.
