Popular artiste Linet Masiro Munyali aka Size 8 is undoubtedly one of the biggest artistes within the Kenyan borders.
She started off doing songs like ‘Shamba Boy’ whose lyrics don’t get more secular.
It was therefore a shocker when she told her fans one day that she had quit the ‘worldly’ music and would be singing for the lord henceforth. She transformed from “jembes” to church-friendly lines.
Now at the top of her game, the gospel music star has revealed the great lengths she had to go, the sacrifices she made to completely detach herself from secularism.
In a recent interview, Size 8 said she had to give out her car for free, something that got her born-again husband DJ Mo very angry.
“The first thing I had to out was my crown as Size 8. I gave it out and the log book too. I called someone and told them to come for it them before I change my mind. Immediately they came home, I gave them everything. My husband was so angry, eventually he understood.” Mrs Muraya said.
According to the mother of one, abundance awaits those who give everything for God.
“When I started in the secular world I had to let go of some things because I didn’t get them from the right channel. I was given a test to see if I will let go and follow Christ. Whatever you leave behind and follow Christ you get a hundred percent.” Size 8 added quoting a Bible verse.
In the interview with Kiss FM, the ‘Mateke’ hitmaker said she is now witch-proof because she dropped her title in the secular world and started afresh.
“I bow down and said whatever I was doing was wrong and because of that Size 8 will never go down, hata uniendee kwa mchawi, because I lay down that crown.”
Size 8 is now a multiple-award winning artiste and one of the biggest gospel singers in the country. She is currently ruling the airwaves with her song ‘Hallelujah’.
