It’s been months since renown anchor Larry Madowo decided to quit popular Friday evening show The Trend, a move that was met with varied emotions by his fans and viewers in general.

The young journalist had said in his quitting statement that his show had been copied by a lot of stations and the time was therefore ripe for him to venture into other things hence the birth of NTV‘s Sidebar which has since become hugely popular.

After his surprise departure, his employer said his successor would be announced after the August 8 poll but it was not to happen perhaps because a new poll was ordered by the Supreme Court. Different hosts have steered the show every Saturday but Zipo.co.ke has info that a person has been identified to fit in Mr Madowo’s oversized shoes.

It is being reported that female TV personality/radio presenter Amina Abdi will from this Friday (November the 17th), take over the show.

Amina Abdi has suddenly left K24 where he was co-hosting a morning show and will be the new Larry Madowo on the set of The Trend.

The mother of one who is known for her bubbly personality, also used to host a show on Capital FM and is also into events emceeing as well as journalism.

Ms Abdi announced her departure from K24 through a social media post but did not say what her next project would be.

“It’s been a good run @k24tv thanks to my wonderful bosses! #TVGirl #LastDay#K24Alfajiri,” Amina said on Instagram.

Before leaving the station, Amina used to co-host a show christened Alfajiri alongside Ian Wafula.
