Opposition chief Raila Odinga has sent out invitations to his swearing in ceremony scheduled to take place in less than two weeks.
The venue of the inauguration is still a closely kept secret and will only be revealed after guests expected to grace the Jamhuri Day event have been vetted thoroughly.
The invitation cards indicate that indeed the swearing in of the National Super Alliance leader honcho will happen on December 12, 2017.
Zipo.co.ke has also learnt that the coalition is yet to notify relevant authorities of the planned controversial ceremony which is expected to attract Mr Odinga’s supporters in their thousands.
The Judiciary had said earlier that it had not yet received any formal communication from the Opposition about the inauguration.
“The Judiciary has not been notified on the inauguration ceremony planned by the Opposition party,” Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Anne Amadi said.
The upcoming swearing ceremony is part of a wider Nasa agenda whose aim is to show resistance to the Jubilee government whom Raila and his cronies maintain lacks legitimacy.
The Opposition is pushing, through its resistance wing, for People’s Assemblies through the county assemblies to push its calls for fresh elections.
Nasa has also called on its supporters to boycott products and services of selected firms suspected to have enabled Jubilee to ring in the August 8 general elections. They are; Safaricom, Brookside Dairies and Bidco Refineries.
