Residents of the affluent Karen Estate in Nairobi county have accused former Starehe Parliamentary aspirant Steve Mbogo of disturbing the peace in the otherwise quiet suburb.

Through a letter addressed to the National Environment Management Authority and seen by Zipo.co.ke, the irritated residents asked the agency to probe Steve Mbogo who is said to use his chopper in the wee hours of the night.

They says Mbogo has formed a habit of operating his helicopter in ungodly hours which is interfering with peace in the Karen neighbourhood.

“We hereby write to notify your office of constant complaints from our members residing along several areas in Karen, Nairobi county,” reads part of the letter by Karen Residents Association.

The residents through the body go on to add that the ODM politician has severely affected the quality of their lives because of the deafening noise caused by his helicopter.

Majority have recorded disruptions and disturbances on their peaceful and quiet livelihoods by the above mentioned resident (Mbogo) use of helicopter in the wee hours of the night and early morning,” the letter adds.

It is said Mbogo was once summoned to Karen police station over the issue but sensationally said he would only go there if he is allowed to land in his chopper.

Steve Mbogo vied for the Starehe parliamentary seat on an ODM ticket but lost to musician Charles ‘Njagua’ Kanyi of Jubilee Party.
