“AFC Leopards Aim to Extend Nairobi City Stars’ Struggles in Quest for Second Season Victory

AFC Leopards are determined to capitalize on the recent woes of Nairobi City Stars as they seek their second win of the season in the FKF Premier League. The match is scheduled to take place at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.

Both AFC Leopards and Nairobi City Stars are currently grappling with poor form. AFC Leopards managed to break their winless streak last weekend, while Nairobi City Stars have endured a four-match winless run.

The situation adds an extra layer of intrigue to the encounter, with both teams believing they have a good chance of defeating the other due to their recent struggles.

AFC Leopards are still facing challenges in front of goal, as evidenced by their recent goalless draw against Kariobangi Sharks on Wednesday. In contrast, Nairobi City Stars suffered their second consecutive defeat and their third in the last four matches, losing 2-1 to Murang’a Seal.

In their recent encounters, Nairobi City Stars have held their own against AFC Leopards, with a record of three losses, two wins, and one draw since their promotion to the Premier League three years ago. This gives them confidence heading into the match.

Nicholas Muyoti’s squad will take inspiration from their performance last season when they narrowly lost 1-0 to AFC Leopards in the first leg but managed to secure a 2-1 victory in the corresponding fixture in May, ensuring their survival in the league.

The pressure is mounting on AFC Leopards’ new coach, Tomas Trucha, as he seeks his fourth victory in charge. Trucha started with a loss, a win, and a draw since returning to the club last month. Additionally, he must find a solution to his team’s scoring woes, as they have only scored four goals in nine matches, two of which came from penalty kicks.

Trucha’s challenges are compounded by the absence of influential midfielder Cliff Nyakeya and captain/left-back Washington Munene, both sidelined due to injuries.

In other Saturday matches, struggling Nzoia Sugar will host Kariobangi Sharks, while Sofapaka will take on FC Talanta, a team that has had a strong start to the season.”
