Holland Casino Identifies New Location for Groningen Casino
Holland Casino has officially designated Business Park Ter Borch as the future site for its Groningen casino. This decision was made in light of the site’s strategic positioning at the gateway to Groningen, offering exceptional accessibility and promising construction opportunities. Business Park Ter Borch, situated on the outskirts of Tynaarlo municipality, perfectly aligns with Holland Casino’s vision for creating a casino that not only meets their architectural and sustainability criteria but also caters to the convenience of their patrons with ample parking.
CEO Petra de Ruiter expressed her satisfaction with the decision, stating, “We are delighted that the choice has been finalized. Pending the approval of the Tynaarlo municipal council, we can embark on the planning and construction phase. I eagerly anticipate this journey, especially the moment when the new Holland Casino Groningen opens its doors. This development is not only a boon for our valued guests but also for our dedicated staff.”
She continued, “Our employees will soon have the privilege of welcoming guests in a brand-new facility, where they can provide the top-tier hospitality that our patrons expect from us.”
Jurryt Vellinga, Spatial Planning Councilor of the municipality of Tynaarlo, highlighted the rationale behind the chosen location, stating, “The choice of location is logical due to its excellent accessibility and the expansive space available within the business park. It reflects our municipality’s attractiveness to businesses and offers prospects for job creation while giving a significant boost to tourism in our region.”
The former Holland Casino location on Gedempte Kattendiep in Groningen, which was ravaged by fire in 2017, has also been taken into account. Since 2018, Holland Casino has been operating a temporary facility in the area.

The anticipated opening of the new Holland Casino branch, Holland Casino Groningen, is set for 2027.
