Malkia Strikers Prepare to Battle Poland in Round 2 of the Preliminary Women’s Volleyball Match After Losing to Brazil in Their Opening Match
Kenya’s Malkia Strikers are set to take on Poland in round 2 of the volleyball preliminary rounds of Group B at the Olympics.
They head into this match after suffering a loss to Brazil in the opening match. Played at the South Paris Arena, the two-time Olympic champions overpowered Malkia Strikers in straight sets of 24-14, 25-13, and 25-12.
On the other hand, Poland defeated Japan in the opening round, claiming victory in 3 out of the four sets. Heading into this match, Kenya’s Malkia Strikers will aim to secure victory in their set plays to gain an upper hand in the game and also achieve their first win in the 2024 Olympic Games.
Among the seasoned veterans on whom the country relies are Edith Wisa, Veronica Adhiambo, Aggripina Kundu, Triza Atuka, and Pamela Odhiambo.
After showing great teamwork and coordination in the first round, Malkia Strikers will need these attributes to emerge victorious over Poland. Coach Japheth Munala will also be in the spotlight as Kenya continues their campaign in their fourth Olympic appearance.
As the 10-time African champions prepare for the match, which is scheduled for 10 pm, Kenyans will be rooting for their team in Paris.
