Shabana boss Pamzo undeterred by five-match ban as they host Posta Rangers

Shabana FC Coach Samuel Pamzo Undeterred by Five-Match Ban as They Prepare to Host Posta Rangers

Shabana FC coach Samuel Pamzo has reaffirmed that his team remains steadfast despite receiving a five-match ban imposed by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) following the chaotic events during their FKF Premier League match against Ulinzi on Sunday.

On Thursday, September 25, the federation announced the details of its ruling based on submissions from both Shabana and Ulinzi, mandating that Shabana play their next five home matches behind closed doors.

This decision followed a violent incident at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday, where fans vandalized seats and injured two officials after Ulinzi’s late equalizer. However, Pamzo insists that his team will not be swayed by the ban and is committed to continuing their performance on the pitch.

“I cannot say much about the ban, but these are things we are used to. We are accustomed to adversity, and it will not affect how we play,” he told Pulse Sports.

“Our only regret is that we are returning to our historic stadium, and we will not have the fans with us. After eighteen years, we had hoped to have the fans in the stadium, but that is not possible.”

Shabana FC will make their much-anticipated return to their historic stadium on Saturday, September 28, when they face Posta Rangers—a move that the coach sees as a significant boost. “You know, for a very long time we have been playing our home matches in Homa Bay, which puts us at a disadvantage. Playing our home matches away from home has been challenging, so moving back to Gusii Stadium is very welcome,” Pamzo expressed.

He also issued a warning to the visitors as they travel to Gusii Stadium. “We have been a very different team this season. I can confidently say we have improved compared to last season. Even last Sunday, we conceded very late in the game, but we played very well, and the same goes for the game before that,” he added.

Currently, Shabana FC sits in 10th place on the league table, having drawn two of their matches.
